HOTEL CUBO

Hotel CUBO is a new start for the Luckman building that has been on the major traffic artery in Ljubljana center since 1932. We used the process of apartment building transformation to a small hotel as an opportunity to show the building in its old charm. Our major challenge was to create something new and fresh within the existing shell. We wanted to create something that would be in-line with the needs of a modern nomad. The exterior is of course protected by the Law of protecting cultural heritage and had to be fully preserved. The interior of the new hotel CUBO, the play of geometry and shadows in its public part, has been envisioned as a sequel to the story started in the CUBO restaurant.
